This is how it works:

1. Download free FotoliaXT and install it. After you restarted QuarkXPress 7, select Window > Show FotoliaXT. If you are connected to the Internet you can now start browsing in the Fotolia image community.

2. Use the search field to find images based on keywords or use the advanced search options. After you have found the right image that fits into your design, just drag and drop it onto your QuarkXPress print or Web layout. If you are a new member, please sign up first to be able to use all features.

3. In the keyword search field, type in your search term separating each term with a space for example “laughing girl”. This will then give you a thumbnail view. Use “add to Lightbox” to just keep it in mind or “Add to Shopping Cart” for purchase. Drag and drop will automatically add the image to your shopping cart.

4. Click a thumbnail to get the full preview and to see the different pricing per resolution. You can zoom in and out to check the quality you need. Drag&drop the image from the 100% view on your layout.

5. When your layout is ready and you have selected all the images you want, switch to the shopping cart and chose the resolution needed. Now you can finalise the purchase with the easy credit system and the hi-resolution images will be transferred onto your computers hard drive (Default-Folder: MyDocuments/FotoliaXT/). At the same time low-resolution images will be replaced with purchased hi-resolution images so you can directly go to print or publish to Web.
